Jake Bamke

Wisconsin Blaze Coach

Jake Bamke is a boys basketball coach for Wisconsin Blaze. A native of Hortonville, WI, Jake played basketball, football and baseball at Hortonville High School. He had a very successful high school basketball career. In his junior year, he was named to the Bay Conference All-Conference first team and All-Area honorable mention. As a senior, Jake was named to the Bay Conference All-Conference first team, All-Area second team and All-State honorable mention.

Upon graduating from high school, Jake received an academic and athletic scholarship to Viterbo University, a Division II NAIA school in La Crosse, WI. He graduated with a degree in Marketing.

As a collegiate basketball player, Jake played 118 games and started in 103 of them. He is in the Top 10 all-time in scoring at Viterbo with 1,460 points. As a senior, he was named to the All-Conference second team.

In addition to experience on the court, Jake has a variety of basketball coaching experience, too. He helped coach basketball camps for eight years, provided one on one training for varsity basketball players and coached the Hortonville varsity summer league.

His coaching philosophy comes from a motto that his team used in high school, “hard, smart, and together.” In his words, “To me, these three things are the recipe to success and no matter how talented a player is, if they can bring these three elements to the table every day, they will be successful.”

Off the basketball court, Jake works as an Account Representative at J.J. Keller & Associates.

We are so happy to have Jake coaching our Blaze basketball teams!
