Wisconsin Blaze Basketball Coach
Kenisha “Kiki” Phillips is a basketball coach for Wisconsin Blaze. She grew up in Spencer, WI where she was on the volleyball, basketball, softball, and track and field teams for Spencer High School. Kiki had an outstanding high school basketball career! She was a four-time varsity letter winner, three-time team captain, two-time second team all-conference player and one-time first-team all conference player.
After high school graduation, Kiki attended Bemidji State University and then finished her college career at Carthage College. She played on the women’s basketball team at both schools.
Kiki brings a variety of coaching experience to the Wisconsin Blaze program. In 2012, she was a student assistant coach at Carthage College. In 2014, she coached a 12U girls basketball team for the Wisconsin Wave AAU program in Kenosha, WI. She was an assistant girls basketball coach at Xavier High School in Appleton, WI for the 2015-16 season as well as an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Blaze 13U and 16U girls basketball teams. In the summer of 2016, Kiki accepted a position as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. Kiki will also be returning as a head coach for Wisconsin Blaze! When she is not coaching, Kiki is a dealer services representative for The North Face.
Kiki’s coaching style is a high degree of strategy mixed with a dash of humor. She connects with her athletes on the most basic human level, and leads the charge with a lot of class and a little bit of sass. Kiki’s strengths are identifying the opponent’s defensive set-ups, and finding the right sequence of offensive strategies to break them down. We are thrilled to have Kiki coaching with Wisconsin Blaze!
