Athletic Coach

MaLeaque Washington is originally from Seattle, Washington. Raised in a military family, MaLeaque moved to Colorado after his father retired from the military. He attended college at CSU Pueblo in Pueblo, Colorado and then finished his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Kinesiology at Kansas State University. 

In addition to his academic success, MaLeaque also has an impressive athletic background. He is a former Division 1 collegiate football athlete. He played basketball and ran track in high school, which led him to coach basketball. MaLeaque provided basketball skill development and fitness coaching to the Douglas County High School basketball team, which was led by former NBA player, Earl Boykins.

MaLeaque’s career in the fitness industry started in 2013. He was the Fitness Manager/General Manager at Trufit Athletic Clubs in Colorado Springs, CO. After moving to the Fox Cities, he managed the personal trainers at Xperience Fitness, and also managed Orangetheory Fitness. He is a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association) since 2015, a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), an ICF (International Coach Federation) Life Coach since 2017 and a Basic Nutrition Coach since 2015. He is also CPR and AED certified.

In 2015, MaLeaque started Build By Faith, a social media platform to create a community of people that live and breathe greatness through Faith!

MaLeaque runs our Blaze Sports & Fitness youth fitness program and also provides one-on-one, small group and team fitness training. His training sessions are open to all athletes and non-athletes.
