Ronell Hubanks

Wisconsin Blaze Basketball Coach

Ronell Hubanks is a boys basketball coach for Wisconsin Blaze. A native of Milwaukee, WI, Ronell played basketball at Whitefish Bay Dominican High School. He was a three-year starter on the varsity basketball team.  

Upon graduating from high school, Ronell attended Loras College for two years and was a two-year starter on the football team. He also played for a summer basketball league while at Loras College. Ronell finished his collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh where he was a two-year starter on their football team.

Ronell has experience on the sidelines in coaching both football and basketball. He has 15 years of football coaching experience as a high school and semi pro position coach, offensive/defensive coordinator and head coach. He has seven years of experience coaching basketball at the high school and youth levels. He was the Varsity and JV assistant coach at Omro High School for two years, as well as a youth coach in Omro for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade basketball teams. In addition, Ronell coached AAU basketball for two years with the Fox Valley Fire.  

In his own words, “I coach to teach our young people different aspects of life through sports. Teaching accountability, responsibility, hard work, dedication and the effectiveness of team – that’s what drives me as a coach. As well as the discipline and basic skills of playing sports the right way.”  

When he’s not coaching, Ronell is the Creative Designer at Small Quantity Boxes in Neenah, WI. He is married to Mandy and they have two sons, Isaiah and Deven.
